The audit provides independent assurance that our research funding decisions are robust, fair and transparent. It confirms that we meet the six AMRC principles of expert review: proportionality, independence, diversity, rotation, impartiality and transparency.
Expert review means that research applications are carefully assessed by people with relevant knowledge and experience. This helps us identify high-quality research with the greatest potential to improve understanding, treatment, care and quality of life for people affected by pulmonary fibrosis.
AMRC carries out the audit every five years as a requirement of full membership. Its pass badge is recognised across the medical research sector as a mark of quality and helps give researchers, supporters, partners and the public confidence in how charities invest their research funding.
