We are delighted to announce the appointment of Daniel Saxton as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Daniel brings extensive experience in the charity sector, with a strong background in leadership roles across the NHS, private healthcare, corporate governance, and strategic marketing and communications. He joins APF from Royal Papworth Hospital, where he led the hospital’s charity and the hospital’s commercial, partnership, and external education portfolios.

Speaking about his appointment, Daniel Saxton, says:

I am thrilled to be joining Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis during Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month. My focus will be on increasing our support for the many people affected by this disease, ensuring their voices are heard, and working with partners to deliver improved care, more research and earlier diagnoses. Together, we can make a real difference to the lives of those impacted by pulmonary fibrosis. Joining such a dedicated team and community is a true privilege and I look forward to building on the incredible work already being done.

Mike Stubbins, Chair of Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis, says:

We are absolutely delighted to welcome Daniel Saxton as our new CEO. We have ambitious plans for the coming years and Daniel’s leadership will be crucial in helping us achieve our goal of ensuring more people affected by pulmonary fibrosis can live well for longer.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a devastating, and often terminal lung disease that affects thousands of people in the UK. Late diagnosis often shortens life expectancy and severely impacts quality of life. This September, as part of Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month, APF has launched a powerful campaign to raise awareness of early symptoms and to encourage support for much needed vital new research.
