PF transplant patients support group

PFTX is the PF Transplant Patients Support Group for anyone with pulmonary fibrosis who has had or is waiting for a transplant.

Next meeting

The date of the next Transplant Support Group meeting is Friday 2nd October at 4.00pm to 5.30pm. We look forward to hearing from Katie, a perfusionist in the transplant team who will be telling us more about her role.

Who is it for?

This group aims to provide a forum for anyone with PF who has had a transplant or is waiting to have one. We meet online and offer an opportunity to share experience, mutual support, and engage with interesting speakers.

Who runs the group?

The group was founded by Steve Jones, APF’s former Patient President, who had a lung transplant for pulmonary fibrosis. Steve understood the many challenges facing someone waiting for, or recovering from a transplant, and family or friends supporting them, from the demanding preparations for surgery to ensuring a good recovery. The group continues to meet every month and is overseen by Wendy Jones or a member of APF’s Services team.
