What is the Life After Caring Support Group?
Grieving is healthy and necessary to adjust to a new way of life. While everyone grieves differently, you don’t have to face it alone. This group offers an opportunity to reflect on your journey, remember your loved one, and explore ways to care for yourself as you move forward.
We’ve also created a resource library that members have found helpful. While the group doesn’t provide specialist bereavement counselling, we’re here to listen and can guide you to additional services if needed.
What happens during a meeting?
A large part of each meeting will be an open discussion where people can share their experiences and learn from others. There'll be an Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) staff member present to help facilitate the meeting, but the discussion is guided by the group members. You're welcome to join in the discussion or just come along and listen.
When is the group?
The group meets every two months via Zoom, with times and days varying to accommodate as many people as possible. You’re welcome to attend as often as you need, whether it’s just once or regularly.
Who is the group for?
It's for anyone who is bereaved because of pulmonary fibrosis. You’re welcome to join, no matter how long it’s been since your loss. We are here to support you.
