Louise Wright CEO to step down from the charity

‍After spending an incredible five and half years leading Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) as Chief Executive, Louise Wright made the decision to step down.

She will be leaving the charity in May to take up a new opportunity as Chief Executive of Vista Blind, a sight loss charity based in Leicestershire.

An interim CEO will be appointed whilst the charity recruits a new CEO.

Reflecting on her time at APF, Louise said:

It’s been a privilege to be part of the lives of people with PF and a humbling experience that I’ve benefitted from both as a person and a leader.

Together we have made incredible changes happen. I’m especially proud that more people know what PF is, more people access vital support closer to diagnosis and we continue to support research so that one day, we can stop PF in its tracks.

I’m leaving APF as a thriving charity that’s opening itself up to new and exciting opportunities with a continued ambition to grow and develop. Now feels the right time to move on. I am looking forward to watching APF go from strength to strength.

Dr Michael Stubbins, Chair of APF said:

On behalf of all of us here at APF, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Louise for her amazing contributions to APF over the past 5-6 years.

Her vision and determination have enabled the charity to touch the lives of so many people who desperately need our help. We will miss her calm leadership, strategic vision and passion for putting people at the centre of everything APF does. It is testament to Louise’s efforts that we have an exceptionally skilled leadership team who can continue APF’s work even as Louise steps down.

We wish Louise all the very best for the future.

Recruitment for a permanent Chief Executive to replace Louise is ongoing and her successor will be announced in due course.
