The first Zoom support group meeting to cover the South West Peninsular was held jointly on the 19th August by the Exeter and Plymouth groups and hosted by Howard Almond. Sarah Lines (ILD CNS) outlined the situation at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital with clinics and also some of the options being looked at to offer the best service to the patients throughout the Exeter ILD Service region. Dr. Chris Scotton of the University of Exeter talked about some of the research projects into IPF and Pulmonary Fibrosis at the medical school.
There were many questions from the patients attending and we were also joined by some of the respiratory nurses in Cornwall who took a very active part. We’re looking forward to further regular Zoom meetings.
