Linda is the Ladies Vice Captain at The Radyr Golf Club in Cardiff and in her role, decided to nominate APF as their charity of the year. Linda sadly lost her mum, Ruth, to IPF in 2020 and wanted to raise much needed awareness and funds in her memory.
I had watched my mum gradually deteriorate, was on continuous oxygen and each day was a struggle. Nevertheless, she remained positive and in good spirits
Linda and The Radyr Golf Club held numerous fundraising activities such as a cycling event, raffles and a burger stand for hungry golfers. APF was one of two charities chosen for charity of the year, Linda and the club raised over £11,000 each for APF and Ty Hafan, a children’s hospice. Julie Hocking, Support Group Leader for The Llandough Support Group represented APF at the awards evening and accepted the incredible donation.
