Last month our first cohort of support group leaders attended Boundaries and Safeguarding awareness training to assist and help them in their group lead role.

Lindsay Goward facilitated the two-hour awareness training session which covered the following areas:

  • What are boundaries?
  • Why are they important?
  • Understanding and maintaining boundaries in your role
  • What does safeguarding mean?
  • Who is responsible for safeguarding?
  • Types of abuse
  • How to manage and report safeguarding concerns

The interactive session with practical case scenarios stimulated plenty of group discussion. It was informative, relevant, and well-received.

….. a first class, detailed and informative seminar on Safeguarding and Boundaries. Every support group should take this as a requirement to safeguard themselves/group.

Steve Milward, Support Group Lead

An essential for all support group leaders to take part in this training. Very enjoyable and certainly educational. Thank you to all involved

Tom McMillan, Support Group Lead

We’re planning more Boundaries and Safeguarding awareness training sessions in the future to ensure leaders and group members feel confident and supported in running their group safely and well.

So, if you’re a support group lead or member who is interested in attending this training, please get in touch by e-mailing support@actionpf.org to register your interest.
